The Street Singer is an 1862 painting by Édouard Manet, directly inspired by a meeting between the artist and a street singer one night - he immediately asked her to pose for him but she refused and Manet exclaimed "If she doesn't want to, I have Victorine!", referring to his favourite model, Victorine Meurent, who posed for the work. It shows a street singer leaving a cabaret by night eating cherries. It is now in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
